There are quite a few composting worms out there which will work in this system just fine. I recommend red wiggler worms, they are the fastest eaters the fastest breeders, easily available, and difficult to kill
Composting with worms is one of the most fun ways to recycle your food waste. These little guys have long been the darling beneficial creature for gardeners and environmentalists alike. Worm are voracious eaters, consuming a wide variety of waste, and as a bi-product they produce worm castings (poop). Worm castings are an amazing fertilizer for your garden. It’s arguably one of the best soil amendments money can buy, but it’s also relatively easy to make yourself in your home! All the while diverting food waste from your trash can.
